Over the next century, connected vehicles and infrastructure will drastically change mobility. As connected vehicles become commonplace, travel will be smoother, more convenient, and accidents will be eliminated. This may be true, however, the new technology also makes the transportation system vulnerable to cyber-attacks at both the vehicle and the infrastructure levels. Until recently, little research has been done on ensuring transportation infrastructure is cyber-secure. Using a comprehensive literature review as a guide, this research investigates this issue. Cyber-attacks that impact autonomous mobility systems will be studied first, followed by identifying potential attacks on AMS at the vehicle and system levels.
