Mary Morrisroe
PhD Candidate
Mary commenced her PhD candidature with the Faculty of Law, UNSW in 2016. Her PhD examines whether the existence (or absence) of certain elements of Euro-American “rule of law” impact on foreign investment decisions from Western countries.
Mary undertakes her PhD on a part time basis and also works as Head of WDP Regulatory Engagement at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
Mary’s thesis considers whether the Russian oil industry may be impeded from attracting higher levels of foreign investment from Western countries as a result of instances of arbitrary decision-making by the state, its courts, and the prevalence of certain kinds of informal institutions or practices.
