Our school leads not only in Australia but also the world. In the latest global rankings, we're 4th in the world (QS World University Rankings, 2020), and 13th in the world (Academic Ranking of World Universities, 2020). We understand that the industry is in a period of transition, particularly in terms of energy. While there are adjustments on the horizon for more traditional technologies, our school is on the front foot in creating opportunities for those interested in working towards a sustainable future through several new and emerging fields. With the best facilities in resources engineering in the country, we are doing the research and producing the graduates who are addressing climate change. Our areas of focus include CO₂ sequestration; improving efficiencies through digital rock analysis; generating clean energy through geothermal engineering; and research into space mining.
As education and research go hand in hand, our future graduates stand to benefit enormously from studying at UNSW School of Minerals and Energy Resources Engineering. They will be the innovators taking these new ideas and technologies into their industries and driving change.
