UNSW Advantage recognises co-curricular activities and professional development opportunities available at UNSW. There are hundreds of opportunities to choose from, you can pick what’s right for you based on your areas of interest. You receive formal recognition for your participation on your Australian Higher Education Graduate Statement (AHEGS) when you graduate. You can use your AHEGS in job applications to showcase your involvement and achievements whilst at uni. 

UNSW Advantage aims to:

  • develop yourself and boost your confidence and skills in unique experiences 
  • connect students with professional and academic staff, and with other UNSW students 
  • provide a variety of quality opportunities across campus run by Faculties, Departments, Student Services, Arc
  • enhance your job application and increase your employability.
  • The Australian Higher Education Graduate Statement (AHEGS) is a secondary transcript issued to students when you graduate, providing a snapshot of your graduate achievements. It aims to enhance graduate mobility and employability in the global marketplace.

  • All current UNSW students are encouraged to search for activities of interest and participate! Opportunities may have eligibility criteria which will be listed on the activity information page.

  • Why not? Build on your skills and knowledge for your own professional growth and job readiness. Your AHEGS is proof of the co-curricular activities you were involved in during your time at university to highlight your broad range of experiences and achievements. It’s an opportunity to connect with and learn from professional or academic staff as well as your peers to be actively involved in the UNSW community making meaningful connections along the way. Employers are looking for well-rounded candidates and your participation in these programs can enhance your job application.
