What is AHEGS Advantage?
AHEGS Advantage is the official body that assesses and recognises co-curricular activities and professional development opportunities available at UNSW. We ensure a high standard of excellence across all experiences throughout the university, including:
- Clubs & societies
- Committees & councils
- Competitions
- Volunteering
- Development programs
- Entrepreneurship & innovation
- Peer mentoring
- Faculty initiatives
All activities under this list are recognised on the Australian Higher Education Graduate Statement (AHEGS). The AHEGS is a representation of a student’s ability to positively impact society and can be used in job applications to showcase achievements.

The skills you develop below are identified in the UNSW Skills Passport.
- Critical thinking: Understand and evaluate information, evidence, observations, and arguments in a clear and logical manner
- Communication: Effectively express ideas and information and respond to people of diverse cultures and backgrounds through modes of listening, reading, writing, and other forms of interaction
- Creativity: Innovate, develop, and produce original and novel ideas, approaches and solutions
- Collaboration: Work effectively and cooperatively with diverse individuals or teams and/or take the initiative to lead, guide and motivate others
- Problem solving: Identify problems, develop and evaluate possible solutions, and select and implement effective and efficient solutions, including analysis of their impact and iteration

Accessing your UNSW co-curricular activity record
If you complete a co-curricular activity from the above AHEGS Advantage list, your participation will be recorded in the Co-Curricular Online Service (CCOS) and included on your Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS), which you will receive upon graduation.
You can view and print an unofficial interim summary of your co-curricular activities from the CCOS.
To access the portal, please ensure you are currently enrolled at UNSW. If you are on program leave or have completed your studies, you will not be able to access CCOS.

You must be currently enrolled at UNSW to view your record. Follow the information above to access CCOS.

If you believe your co-curricular activity record is incomplete or incorrect you must contact the relevant activity provider to ask if you were eligible to receive AHEGS recognition. If you are, the activity provider may process the activity on your AHEGS.

Co-curricular activities with paid engagements are not eligible for AHEGS recognition.

Merit awards for academic excellence, including Deans’ Lists, are not co-curricular achievements and are not eligible to be part of UNSW Advantage. However, they could be recorded under your AHEGS.

Opportunities to volunteer within external organisations are not eligible for inclusion under UNSW Advantage. External organisations may be eligible to register as a Partner Organisation with Arc – UNSW Student Life.
Arc - UNSW Student Life collaborates and engages with various not-for-profit partner organisations. Partner organisation volunteering activities that have gone through a nomination and approval process can then be recognised on a student’s AHEGS.
