The Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) provides an official description of the nature, level and context of your completed studies. An AHEGS is only issued upon conferral of an award, unlike an academic transcript, which can be issued at various stages of your program.
The purpose of the AHEGS is to assist in the recognition of Australian qualifications and promote international professional mobility of Australian graduates. It is compiled to summarise information about graduates that is factual and relevant at the time of issue.
Please note: The AHEGS is only available to graduates who completed their program of study and were conferred with their degree from Semester 1, 2010 onwards. Additionally, if you were conferred before Semester 1, 2018, you will have to complete an AHEGS application form.

The AHEGS conforms to nationally agreed specifications approved by the Department of Education. It is date-stamped to indicate the date of issue and consists of five sections plus certification:

Section 2: The Award
Section 3: Awarding Institution
Section 4: Graduate’s Academic Achievements (includes co-curricular activities as Special Achievements)

Applications for AHEGS cannot be processed if you have an outstanding debt to the University. Debts include all fees, loans, library fines, housing blocks, Art & Design blocks, ATAX blocks and equipment.
UNSW will contact you if you have a debt. You will need to clear this debt before your AHEGS can be released.
AHEGS services at UNSW
Important note: Please be aware that if you provide falsified documents to external agencies which misrepresent your qualifications from UNSW, this could result in one of a range of penalties from failure in the course or suspension (where applicable), exclusion and/or the matter being reported to ICAC. As a student, you must be aware of your obligations and responsibilities under the Code of Conduct and Values (PDF, 867 KB).

1. Apply
Request an AHEGS application form by contacting
conferrals.studentlifecycle@unsw.edu.au.
In your request, please include:
- Your full legal name
- Student number
- Name of the program(s) of study completed at UNSW.
You can pay online via credit card (Visa or MasterCard only). Personal cheques or cash cannot be accepted.
You will receive a link to make the payment once your application has been confirmed.
3. Prepare for delivery
Please allow up to eight working days for your request to be processed, not including delivery.
AHEGS hard copies will be sent via regular Australia Post domestic and international airmail services, unless you choose courier or express post at an additional charge.

Proof of Identity
To enable the University to fulfil its obligations under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act (NSW) 1998, you must submit a copy of your driver's licence, passport or birth certificate. Your request cannot be processed until you provide this. If you do not have a current driver's licence or a passport, you will need to provide copies of the equivalent of 100 points of ID such as a medicare card, bankcard, student identity card, electricity bill etc.
If you have changed your name since you studied at UNSW, you will also need to provide evidence of this by providing either a copy of your marriage certificate, official change of name certificate or a copy of other relevant documentation.
My eQuals service for digital AHEGS
Access your official documents through My eQuals
My eQuals is a secure platform used by universities in Australia and New Zealand for graduates to securely access and share official documents, including your testamur (degree certificate), official academic transcript and Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS).
Access to My eQuals will be available within 5 working days from the Monday after your conferral date. Your login details will be emailed to you during this time. Once your access is set up, you will have control over who can view your records and how long third parties can access them.

- From Semester 1, 2018
- Between 2010 & Semester 1, 2018
- Before Semester 1, 2010
The following information applies to graduates whose award was conferred after the release of Semester 1, 2018 results. The earliest eligible conferral date is 31 July 2018.
Eligibility
You do not need to apply for a digital copy of your AHEGS. You can directly access your graduation documents via My eQuals.
The following information applies to you if your conferral date was between Semester 1, 2010 and Semester 1, 2018.

You are eligible for an AHEGS. However, you will need to apply for digital access via My eQuals.
1. Apply
To request an AHEGS application form, email

- Your full legal name
- Student number
- Name of the program(s) of study completed at UNSW.

3. Wait for confirmation
Please allow up to eight working days for your request to be processed and your documents to be available via My eQuals.
You will receive an email confirming when your documents are ready to access.

However, if you require a record of your extracurricular activities and awards, we can provide you with a copy of your Supplementary Transcript. This document recorded eligible co-curricular activities you completed from Semester 1, 2007 to Semester 2, 2009.
To request a Supplementary Transcript, please email conferrals.studentlifecycle@unsw.edu.au. In your email, include:
- Your full legal name
- Student number (zID)
- Name of the program(s) of study completed at UNSW
- Year(s) of program completion.

No. Students who completed their program of study at UNSW prior to Semester 1, 2010 are not eligible for an AHEGS.
However, if you require a record of your extracurricular activities and awards, we can provide you with a copy of your Supplementary Transcript.

Yes, the AHEGS records any eligible co-curricular activities you engaged in under Special Achievements. This includes any program-related achievements. Examples of recognised activities include: mentoring, student representative participation on recognised UNSW committees, leadership programs and community volunteering.
Arc, UNSW faculties, schools and divisions can nominate co-curricular or professional development programs to be approved for AHEGS recognition. Programs are assessed by AHEGS Advantage against a set of eligibility criteria. If you successfully participate in one of these programs, it will be listed on your AHEGS.
As a currently enrolled student, you can also view and print an unofficial interim summary of your co-curricular activities via the Co-Curricular Online Service (CCOS).
If you completed your program of study prior to Semester 1, 2010, you can get a record of your co-curricular activities by requesting a Supplementary Transcript.

All of your recorded results related to the specified program of study will appear on the AHEGS. This includes any fail grades.

Yes, for programs where graduates receive two separate awards (i.e. two testamurs), a separate AHEGS is issued for each qualification.

The information appearing on the AHEGS is from your official student record. Should you find incorrect or missing information, please contact The Nucleus: Student Hub for advice regarding replacement.

No. A reprinted AHEGS must contain exactly the same content as at the time of original issue. The AHEGS is designed to provide a snapshot of a graduate’s qualification at the point of completion.
