How to pay

There are multiple payment methods that we accept for student fees at UNSW. Follow the steps below to complete your payment.

  1. Wait until your fee statement is available on myUNSW. You'll get an email approximately two weeks before the start of each teaching period.
  2. Make a payment using the below options.

Beware of scams

UNSW has seen increased activity in fraudulent transactions by people offering to pay students' fees using bitcoin, credit cards or gift cards.

If it sounds too good to be true, verify with The Nucleus: Student Hub before acting on it.

FAQs

  • UNSW does not accept payment from prepaid gift cards or prepaid debit cards. If we suspect a prepaid card has been used for payment, UNSW reserves the right to reverse the transaction to the same card. Your payment will need to be made using an approved method.

  • The UNSW Prep Program (for school leavers aged 17-19) and University Preparation Program (for people aged 20+) are both currently fully funded by the Australian government.

Although there are no payable course fees, you will need to pay other fees. These include the Student Services and Amenities Fee and the cost of any materials you might require for your course.

Please note this situation may change. You should check the fee details prior to your application.

  • You can make a partial payment on your tuition and SSAF fees (using any of the approved methods above) by nominating the amount you wish to pay.

  • Incidental fees are for goods and services provided to you that are not essential to your study. These can also occur where the goods or services are made available to you in an alternate form, free of charge.

Incidental fees are payable on a user basis and are not generally refundable. They include:

    • UNSW may levy fees for the following goods and services. The following list reflects common requests and is not exhaustive:

    • A provider that conducts a special admissions test to judge the suitability of a person seeking admission into a specialist course may charge a test fee. For example, performing arts institutions or faculties may hold specialist auditions or interviews.

A special admissions test would be over and above normal admissions services, such the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR), for which a provider must not charge a fee.

  • Payments made via credit card through myUNSW will be processed immediately if successful. Your fee statement will automatically update overnight to reflect the payment.

BPAY payments will take up to three business days. If you use Convera to complete your payment, the transaction may take 5-10 business days to be processed.

Payments made by not logging into myUNSW will take up to three days to process.

Please keep this in mind to ensure you make the necessary payments before the due date.

  • UNSW does not accept Telegraphic Transfer options for overseas payments. We use Convera as the preferred method for international bank transfers to ensure your payment is received securely.

UNSW will not provide bank details for international payments for any reason.

  • Please be aware that some countries will be unable to use the international money transfer service Convera, due to sanctioned and restricted jurisdictions as outlined here
