UNSW Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences Student Society (BABSOC) is an active and vibrant community. Student life is not just about study.
As part of our diverse and inclusive school community, you’ll create meaningful connections for life. BABSOC will expand your network through professional and social events throughout the year enhancing your student experience.
We encourage all students to join BABSOC to find out what’s going on in and around the school and learn about upcoming events.
BABSOC is a society that unites UNSW students who are studying disciplines under the School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences (or BABS, for short). This includes biotechnology, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, immunology and bioinformatics.
The society holds social events and professional workshops that are aimed at enhancing the student experience of more than 400 members.
A team of high-achieving students, with different majors in bioscience. We hope to promote a sense of community within the School of BABS, as well as the Faculty of Science in general.
Our aim is to offer the opportunity to develop and expand close professional networks for students and alumni. These opportunities are explored through shared interests and a passion for research and development, entrepreneurship, innovation, and the commercialisation of science, while also bringing the community together through social events.
