Our research is divided into three clusters. Each cluster has different strengths.
We support forward-thinking research by focusing on the key areas of gene regulation, systems biology and neurogenomics; specifically, the study of human disease, gene expression, proteomics, biological systems and their functions, and neurobiology from a genomic perspective.
With a passion for discovery, our research centres on synthetic biology and metabolism and molecular cell biology. We incorporate molecular genetics, stem cell biology, microscopy and more to answer unsolved biological questions and train the next generation of life scientists.
We aim to unravel the mechanisms behind ubiquitous microbes and their vital function in every life process. Our research in microbiology and microbiomes explores the importance of microbes in the environment and microbial contributions to health and disease.
