Do you want to increase your knowledge in materials science and engineering? Put your analytical skills to the test to solve some of the world's most difficult problems? If so, the postgraduate coursework and research programs offered by the School of Materials Science & Engineering at UNSW Sydney are the perfect place to start. Various postgraduate degree programs are offered, both in coursework and research.
The Master of Materials Technology is a one- to two-year full-time program. It is designed for graduates wishing to acquire expertise in the design, selection, use and performance of modern materials. It is suitable for graduates with Science, Engineering, Technology, or related backgrounds. The program provides a comprehensive, yet flexible, study of the full range of materials, including ceramics, composites, metals, polymers, composites, nano- and nature-inspired materials. Students complete both a coursework component (75%) and a research component (25%).
Our school's research programs focus on a broad range of areas in materials science and engineering, including topics in materials science, materials chemistry, and materials physics, as well as others on sustainable materials processing, recycling science, and advanced characterization techniques. We offer Master of Philosophy, Master of Science (Research), and Doctor of Philosophy programs that enable you to carry out original research on a project of your choice.
