Explore the new Generative AI for Artists course

The School of Art & Design has launched a new course available from 2025, DART2252 Generative AI for Artists. This dedicated elective introduces creative methods to use AI, while also critically examining the rise of AI in creative industries.

What will I learn? 

• Develop a creative practice with AI through a range of tools, including text, image, sound, video and 3D
• Manipulate and blend creative AI tools
• Explore critical and conceptual perspectives on the use of AI in creative arts
• Discuss historical and current cultures of creative AI use
• Understand the underlying technology and how it is likely to evolve
• Understand copyright and moral rights in contemporary AI policy debates
• Understand issues in data, computation and energy usage.
