We work to ensure that students from underrepresented backgrounds have equitable access to higher education and the support they need to succeed at university and beyond. 

  • Lead UNSW’s Widening Participation strategy and collaborate directly with faculties, divisions and students to design and implement targeted initiatives across the student life cycle
  • Lead core equity initiatives to address the underrepresentation of students at university
  • Undertaking research to inform future educational outreach and influence innovative teaching and learning practices.
  • Conduct research to inform educational outreach and influence innovative teaching and learning practices.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to ensure strategies, policies and programs across UNSW are relevant and responsive to the needs of underrepresented students.
  • Advocate for structural change to reduce barriers for underrepresented students at UNSW.
  • Amplify student voices through Students as Partners initiatives.
  • Contribute to government through UNSW and G08 equity submissions and advice on funding for aligned programs.
  • Support transition and belonging by helping students from equity cohorts move into higher education, build early connections and orient to life at UNSW.
  • Partner across UNSW to promote inclusive teaching and learning through collaborative initiatives that support students across the full lifecycle.
