CDEV3400 WIL Placement
Complete an internship directly with an organisation and develop your professional skills.
Through CDEV3400 WIL Placement, you will gain relevant professional experience, develop your professional knowledge and future-focused skills, all while earning 6 units of credit towards your undergraduate degree.
This course is designed to enable you to apply your knowledge in a real-world work setting with academic guidance and support. It is open to undergraduate students from all degrees, and you can complete an internship with an industry, government, or community partner organisation.
Course content is delivered flexibly online and assessment tasks are designed to help you make the most of your internship, reflect on and showcase your professional experience.

Enrolment eligibility
Please note that CDEV3400 is not a self-enrolled course. To be eligible to enrol, you must have:
- completed a minimum of 96 units of credit (UOC)
- at least 6 UOC of space remaining in your degree
- a UNSW-approved internship

1. Student-sourced internships
Use the student-sourced pathway if you have secured an internship opportunity that is relevant to your career plans.
Please note your internship must be approved by UNSW to enrol in CDEV3400.

Applications for Term 3 close on 31 August

| Step 1 | Secure an internship opportunity that meets the CDEV3400 requirements. Keep a copy of your offer letter, contract, or equivalent document. |
| Step 2 | Complete the UNSW WIL Agreement with the organisation hosting your internship.
Please note that the Experiential Learning team will sign/execute this agreement if your internship is approved. |
| Step 3 | Complete the WIL Workplace Risk Assessment Form with your internship supervisor. |
| Step 4 | Complete the CDEV3400 Application Form by 31 August 2026.
Applications will be regularly reviewed. Please submit your application as soon as you have all the required information and documents.
Late applications will not be accepted. |
| Step 5 | Monitor your UNSW email regularly for updates and/or further information requests.
Your internship must be approved before you start. For unpaid internships, UNSW public liability and personal accident insurance does not become active until your internship has been approved. |

- Your internship must be completed between 7 September (O-Week Term 3) and 10 December 2026 (Term 3 Exam Period).
