The HTH Glaucoma Clinic is an optometry-led service providing ongoing review and management for patients with stable early or moderate glaucoma. Patients are assessed by UNSW optometrists, with virtual ophthalmology review sought on a case-by-case basis when required. By providing an accessible high-quality pathway to glaucoma management, the clinic helps reduce demand on public hospital services for stable glaucoma. It also provides students with valuable insight into the important role of optometry and the value of team-based care involving ophthalmology, general practice and other health professionals.

Meet Our Team

Elizabeth Wong (Optometrist)

Elizabeth is a Clinical Optometrist and Education Focused academic at the School of Optometry & Vision Science at UNSW Sydney, where she convenes Clinical Ocular Therapy in the Master of Clinical Optometry program. Her interests include evidence- based clinical delivery models and collaborative care. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and an Optometry Australia Credentialled Advanced Practitioner in Glaucoma.

Carol Chu (Optometrist)

Carol is a Clinical Optometrist and supervisor at the UNSW Optometry Clinic. She received her Bachelor of Optometry and Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics from the University of New South Wales. She has a special interest in glaucoma and is an Optometry Australia Credentialled Advanced Practitioner in Glaucoma.

Eihab Eltantawy (Optometrist)

Eihab is a Clinical Optometrist and education-focussed academic at the UNSW Optometry Clinic and the School of Optometry & Vision Science. He convenes the Contact Lenses in the Master of Clinical Optometry Program and has a special interest in advanced contact lenses. He has also completed the Australian College of Optometry’s Advanced Certificate in Glaucoma.

Nicole Lawson (Optometrist)

Nicole Lawson is a Clinic Optometrist and an education focused academic at the UNSW Optometry Clinic and the School of Optometry & Vision Science with a particular interest in teaching clinical glaucoma management. She is an Optometry Australia Credentialled Advanced Practitioner in Glaucoma.
