A PhD scholarship is available to work on a joint project focusing on the associations between visual function and cognitive function. The Scholarship is attached to the ARC Funded Resilient Minds (ReMind) Project. The larger ReMind project investigates the correlates of cognitive resilience across the adult age-span. Within this project is a biomarker substudy that includes assessment of the cornea and visual function, as well as brain imaging and blood biomarker analysis. The PhD project will focus on the visual-brain or visual cognition elements of the biomarker substudy. It will be jointly supervised by Professor Kaarin Anstey and A/Prof Maria Markoulli. The student will join a larger team of postdoctoral fellows and students working on the ReMind study which is funded by Professor Anstey’s ARC Laureate Fellowship.
Applications are sought from students with first class honours in psychology, optometry, vision science, medicine or equivalent.
