What exactly is Arc Wellness?

Arc is all about providing the best student experience for everyone who studies at UNSW, whether it's providing free food to those who need it, having over 330 awesome clubs and societies for students to join or a week of fun activities to unwind after a long day of classes.

An important part of that student experience mission is looking after the wellbeing of the student community. That's where Arc Wellness comes in.

Arc Wellness is all about making the UNSW experience a brighter and healthier place for everyone through the sharing of resources to help students care for their mental wellbeing, and to de-stigmatise the conversation surrounding mental health at uni.

Whenever you're feeling the stress of juggling your studies, work, relationships and health, just know that there are many others who understand exactly what you're going through. Arc Wellness is here to provide important support and resources to make those difficult moments easier, as well as opportunities for students to contribute to a more vibrant and safe campus.

Wellness programs

Arc Wellness is here to help ensure that your basic needs are covered and your headspace is balanced while you're studying.

From building your wellness skills to providing a safe space to just check-in from time to time, Arc's wellness programs and its volunteers have got you covered.

Wellness Warriors

Sometimes you just need a Random Act of Kindness to brighten up your day. Arc's Wellness Warriors are here to help.

This group of student volunteers are passionate about mental health and wellbeing, and wants nothing more than to ensure you're properly equipped to handle everything uni has to throw at you.

From running pop-up events on campus and checking in on students to helping out at big events like Stress Less Week, Wellness Warriors give UNSW students a chance to have fun and destress whenever the going gets tough.

If you're keen to give back to the student community's wellbeing, you can apply to be a Wellness Warrior and be part of a better tomorrow while building important professional development skills and lifelong friendships.

Check Point

Sometimes it's important to have someone check in and see how you're doing. Check Point is all about supporting students in looking after their wellbeing, especially during those high-stress periods during term.

Check Point aims to make it easier for students to take a break, power up and refuel, therefore ensuring their essential nutrition, movement and sleep needs are met. The team runs a series of regular activations on campus across the term, including:

  • Brekkie Club — Provides free breakfast to students Monday to Friday from Week 1-7 and Week 7-10.
  • Night-Time Nibbles — Provides late-night snacks from Tuesday to Thursday during those intense study periods in Weeks 5, 10 and 11.

Place 2 Be

If you're just looking to hang out and be social without any of the usual stress, Place 2 Be is where it's at.

This program aims to help students improve their wellbeing through social connection. With the help of friendly Place 2 Be volunteers, students are provided fun opportunities to make new friends and build a support network in a safe and inclusive space.

Looking for a place to chat or somewhere to share fun memes? Jump on Discord and join the fun.

For those who like an in-person hang, there's a Lunch Club that takes place from Tuesday to Thursday on Library Lawn at 12-2pm every week.
