We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team and contribute to world class research in the UNSW School of Optometry & Vision Science, ranked 2nd globally for research impact and the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing, UNSW.
Title: The ORBIT CADASIL Study: OculaR Biomarkers from spatial Image analysis Techniques for CADASIL
Project Synopsis
- This project aims to focus on identifying the ocular changes individuals with the disease, CADASIL and determine their prognostic potential using a novel spatial image analysis technique
- The PhD candidate will be supported by a multidisciplinary team including vision scientists, optometrists, ophthalmologists, neuropsychiatrists and neuroscientists
- This opportunity will include working with State-of-the-Art ocular imaging technologies.
Project Team
The core team will include Dr Lisa Nivison-Smith, Dr Danit Saks, Dr Jessie Huang-Lung.
Applicant’s discipline and research background
Desirable (but not essential):
- Qualification and/or equivalent knowledge/experience in the field of vision science or neuroscience
- Previous knowledge and/or experience in image analysis
- Registration with the Optometry Board of Australia
Available Scholarship Funding Sources:
- Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship worth $37,684 per annum for 3.5 years (tax exempt)
- UNSW Top-up Scholarship worth $10,000 per annum (tax exempt)
