Rationale

Collaboration is central to the development and delivery of high-quality health care, and to creating and sustaining the social conditions necessary for health and health equity in populations. The project was set up to draw on rapidly evolving experience and evidence of factors that assist participating organisations and people to ensure the success of collaborations for health & equity.

Aims

To assist organisations (including communities) and people to establish and sustain successful collaborations for health; and to assist organisations and people who are already engaged in a collaboration to diagnose and resolve problems than can prevent the collaboration from achieving its intended goals.

Design and Method

Working Together: Collaboration for Health. A practical guide was officially launched in July 2023. Based on the conceptual framework outlined in the Guide, a workshop (or series of workshops) will be offered to enhance the knowledge and skills of health professionals, community representatives, and colleagues from a range of sectors in collaborating effectively to resolve complex problems that they recognise they cannot resolve from within their own mandate or capacity.
