High school teachers & students

We pride ourselves in the quality and variety of our chemistry engagement with students, teachers and the general public.

Chemical model

UNSW School of Chemistry delivers workshops, expos and lectures as part of faculty and university-wide initiatives like the ASPIRE program, Nura Gili Summer School and L'Oreal Women in Science events.

Open and info days

UNSW’s annual Open Day is the perfect way to get a taster of studying chemistry with us. You can tour our labs, talk to academics and visit our displays to witness thrilling chemistry experiments and reactions.

Regional NSW visits

Would you like us to visit your regional high school? You could be in for a treat. Our chemistry roadshow frequently brings our finest students and chemistry equipment to you, running fun interactive chemical experiments.

Depth studies

Depth studies can extend Year 12 students and bridge the gap between high school and university. They consist of online lesson plans and resources, suggested assessments and a capstone excursion to the UNSW Chemistry laboratories.

SciX

SciX@UNSW links Year 12 science extension students with UNSW researchers. This allows students to work on projects that follow their own line of enquiry whilst accessing the resources and expertise of our scientists.

Professional development

If you’re a high school teacher, we offer online modules for your professional development needs. Check out the OpenLearning modules created by UNSW science staff. There are many depth studies to choose from.
