This project leverages frugal design principles and requirements engineering to develop a low-cost, wearable lower limb exoskeleton aimed at improving mobility and facilitating exercise for the aging society.
Research goal
Given the growing ageing population a critical need for accessible assistive technology for the elderly, particularly focused on mobility enhancements. Many elderly individuals face mobility-related impairments that impact their independence and quality of life. Current solutions are expensive and primarily targeted at rehabilitation patients. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop a low-cost, wearable lower limb exoskeleton aimed at improving mobility and facilitating exercise for the aging society.
