Our projects include national, international and cross-national research on:
- migration and care
- care organisations and the care workforce
- care for people with disabilities
- out-of-home care
- care for ageing and older people.
Our research brings attention to care relationships, the labour and tasks of care, the distribution of care between family, community, market and state, and the impact, benefits and costs of care. Our researchers engage with government, non-government and advocacy organisations to develop policy and practice-relevant research projects.
Our work provides an evidence base to inform policies and programs that support unpaid carers, paid careworkers, and foster/kinship carers, and the children and adults they care for, and to foster productive ageing in the community.
