The NSW Homelessness Action Plan 2009-2014 (the HAP) was designed to reform the state-wide homelessness service system to achieve better outcomes for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. A number of HAP projects were selected for extended evaluation. A UNSW consortium, led by the Centre for Gender Related Violence Studies, partnering with SPRC, conducted an evaluation of HAP support services for women and children escaping domestic violence. The evaluation used data from service agencies and clients to determine whether the HAP services have assisted women and children to find long-term accommodation and support.
