Rapid Evidence Review – Transformation of Closed Employment

The research was a Rapid Evidence Review into the Transformation of Closed Employment. The purpose of the rapid evidence review was to understand the policy conditions in which Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs) could change to support people into open or integrated employment. The review focused on international literature about the transformation away from closed employment systems (sheltered workshops) to achieve the economic participation rights of people with intellectual disability in the community. Most of the literature was academic and grey literature on the transformation and closure in USA and Canada.
