In collaboration with the Drug Policy Program Malaysia, we have provided diverse technical support towards drug law reform in Malaysia. This has included workshops to increase the understanding of various decriminalisation models among government and civil society members in Malaysia to support community advocacy on decriminalisation; media training; evidence summaries of decriminalisation; contribution to design of Malaysian decriminalisation and design of pilot studies, and support for evaluation. In June 2024, a new National Task Force on Decriminalisation of Drugs for Use and Possession was announced, and a Drug Summit was held (November 2025).
