Social Policy Research Centre
This project evaluated New Income Management (NIM) in the Northern Territory. The four year evaluation (2011-2014) focused on assessing the impact of NIM on families and communities in the Northern Territory. It involved surveys and interviews with NIM clients and service providers from across the Northern Territory, and the collection and analysis of existing administrative data.
The Social Policy Research Centre has previously developed an evaluation framework for NIM and is also conducting an early implementation snapshot in addition to this main evaluation. We were once again working with the ANU’s Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research and the Australian Institute of Family Studies to conduct this evaluation.
