Early Childhood Intervention Australia NSW/ACT (ECIA) commissioned research into the experiences of families and early childhood intervention (ECI) service providers in the transition to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in NSW. The purpose was to identify any issues in the transition and to assist in addressing these issues for the full roll out of the Scheme. The research was a 20-month study, including interviews and surveys. It included pre- and post-NDIS comparisons, and a focus on the views and experiences of family members with different levels of experience of the NDIS and of service providers in a different roles in ECI and in mainstream services.
