DPMP were commissioned to develop a position paper for Uniting Vic.Tas that outlines a best-practice model of decriminalisation for Victoria including detail on how the model can be adapted to a Victorian context based on the current policy and practice landscape.

The position paper outlined a preferred model for decriminalisation drawing on:

  • A literature review of the evidence of the most effective strategies to reduce the harm of illicit drugs and the harms experienced by people due to the criminalisation of use and possession

Consultation with Uniting Vic.Tas stakeholders including service providers and those working in policy.
