Jason Lai

Jason is a graduate of the UNSW Business School, where he completed a Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Finance and Innovation Strategy and Entrepreneurship.
During his studies, he effectively integrated financial knowledge with hands-on innovation projects, developing a practical approach to problem-solving and a strong interest in the intersection of technology, business models, and entrepreneurship.
He currently works as a Forensic Analyst at one of the Big Four firms, where he applies analytical techniques and commercial insight to investigate financial crime and support Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance efforts. Jason values collaboration and enjoys working across multidisciplinary teams, as well as engaging with people from diverse backgrounds.
Living in college was a defining aspect of Jason’s university experience, allowing him to build lasting connections with individuals from around the world. Academically, he benefited from supportive peers and tutors who made complex concepts accessible, while his studies in innovation and entrepreneurship provided engaging, practical opportunities to develop and test real-world ideas.
Exposure to UNSW’s global community broadened Jason’s perspective, shaping both his professional ambitions and personal outlook.
