He currently serves as Executive Director of Ubiquant Singapore Asset Management, part of Ubiquant, a top-four AI-driven quantitative hedge fund in China managing approximately RMB 80 billion (USD 12 billion) in assets. Joseph brings over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, having held senior leadership roles at global institutions including J.P. Morgan, UBS, and Standard Chartered Bank, as well as regional firms such as Soo Chow Securities.

He has also contributed his expertise as an independent non-executive director for several Singapore mainboard-listed companies.

In addition to his professional achievements, Joseph is actively involved in the non-profit and education sectors. He serves as a director and treasurer of The Singapore Chinese High School and Hwa Chong International School, and is a member of the Board of Governors of Hwa Chong Institution. He is also a director of Global Australians and currently serves as President of the UNSW Alumni Association Singapore. His past leadership roles include President of Australian Alumni Singapore and the Financial Planning Association of Singapore.

Joseph is a certified accountant with CPA Australia and holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. He is also a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) and a Fellow of the Singapore University of Social Sciences.

What was your favourite memory from your time studying at UNSW?

“Being involved in student bodies like Student Guild as International Student Director in 1996 and taking part in activities led by the Singapore Students Association”
