On the monodromy of hyperplane arrangements

Abstract:

We will discuss the main open question in this area, namely whether the combinatorics of the intersection lattice determines the monodromy operator of the Milnor fiber of a central, complex hyperplane arrangement.

Some results will be stated in a way showing that both answers seem at this stage equally possible.
