Composition operators have been studied since the 19th century, starting with Koenigs' work on the Schroder equation. In recent decades, progress has been made on characterising the algebras generated by these operators.
In this talk, I will illustrate some examples of singly generated C*-algebras, and extend these ideas to describe the C*-algebra generated by a Mobius composition operator.
