Abstract:
In this talk I will be giving an overview of the theory required to understand the Atiyah-Singer index theorem and some of its more specialised cases.
Generally the Atiyah-Singer index theorem relates analytic information about a certain class of operators over sections on particular vector bundles to topological information relating to the operator and the vector bundle and underlying manifold.
