Generating functions associated to polynomial invariants and their applications

Abstract: 

The theory of invariants of finite groups forms an interesting and relatively self-contained nook in commutative algebra. Also, there are close connections between this subject and combinatorics, because of the combinatorial applications of invariant theory and that the combinatorial tool of generating functions are used throughout the theory of invariants of finite groups. This talk will be about the theory of invariants of finite groups and it's applications.
