Abstract:

The goal of this information session is to give some insight to 2nd year students into the process of applying for and successfully obtaining a PhD position.

Applying for PhD programs is a complex process, and it all starts with building a strong background and record from early years of undergraduate studies. Mr Ray Li (UNSW), future Master's student at the University of Cambridge and PhD student at the University of Chicago, will discuss applying for a PhD program, and in particular what you should start building on starting with your 2nd year.

The event will continue with the usual information session "Becoming a PhD student: What does it take?" for 3rd and 4th years (but everyone is welcome to attend!).
