Abstract:
In this talk we will present an original result connecting the convolution of harmonic polynomials (those satisfying Laplace’s equation) to a certain algebra of symmetric tensors. Although the result itself is simple, we will discuss some beautiful results from the representation theory of compact groups that are utilized in the proof.
