Asymptotics of operator semigroups

Abstract

Operator semigroups on Banach or Hilbert spaces can be used to model both continuous and discrete systems that evolve through time. In this talk, I will introduce both strongly continuous and discrete operator semigroups and discuss their asymptotic, i.e. long-term, behaviour. A particular focus will be given to quantifying rates of decay.
