Abstract

Point counting on algebraic surfaces over finite fields is an important topic in algorithmic algebraic geometry. In the past years, at lot of work on p-adic point counting was done. This determines #V(ZZ / p ZZ) modulo some power of p. Choosing a second prime l and determine #V(ZZ / p ZZ) modulo powers of l is called l-adic point counting. The first part of the talk is about my work on 2-adic point counting. The second part will be devoted to l-adic point counting with respect to other primes l.
