Changing Lectures to Seminars in MATH3560

Abstract

Would you rather watch a 10 hour movie or 10 hour-long episodes? Netflix found that most people would prefer the latter. In an attempt use that same logic to address declining student engagement, traditional 2-hour lectures were replaced with a series of short mini-lectures and exercises in MATH3560 "History of Mathematics". This seminar will discuss what changed, what worked, and what didn't work.
