Abstract
MATH1041 is a service course on introductory statistics for students studying majors in the life and social sciences. As part of the course, students complete an assignment in the form of a computing project where they use RStudio to analyse a dataset. Over the years, the assignment format has undergone many changes. Some of the changes that have been made have been in response to issues such as prevention of academic misconduct, increases in marking load, maintaining student satisfaction, and the rise of artificial intelligence. This talk will take you on the journey of how the assignment has evolved over the past decade to rise up to these challenges.
