UNSW ADA's Creative Spaces serve as vibrant hubs of artistic exploration and innovation, nurturing the creativity and imagination of its students and the broader community.

These spaces are meticulously designed to provide an inspiring and supportive environment for a diverse range of artistic disciplines, including visual arts, performance arts, digital media, and more. From state-of-the-art studios to versatile exhibition spaces, ADA Creative Spaces offer the necessary tools, resources, and expertise for individuals to push the boundaries of their artistic endeavours. The facilities are equipped with cutting-edge technology and equipment, enabling students to experiment with various media and techniques.

The spaces foster collaboration and interdisciplinary interactions, encouraging students to engage with one another, share ideas, and learn from different perspectives.

The ADA Creative Spaces also host regular exhibitions, performances, and events, showcasing the remarkable talent and creativity of UNSW's artistic community to the wider public. Esme Timbery Creative Practice Lab

Named for a celebrated Bidjigal artist and Elder from the La Perouse Aboriginal community, the ‘Esme’ is a brand new building and a specialised arts lab, within the School of the Arts & Media.

Design Futures Lab

In the Design Futures Lab we aim to inspire exploration, innovation and research into fabrication, emerging technologies and design theories. Take a tour and discover 11 purpose-built spaces, housing the latest technologies, equipment, material and making possibilities.

The Making Centre

The Making Centre has a range of highly-equipped facilities that span across the Paddington campus. They include The Resource Centre (Photography and Moving Image), Toolroom (Wood and Metal), Makerspace, Hackspace, Ceramics Studio, Jewellery Studio, Screen Printing and Printmaking Studios, and Textiles Studio.

These spaces have state-of-the-art technology and equipment with all the fundamental necessities you would expect to pursue your creative practices in the field of art and design.
