Welcome to UNSW School of the Arts & Media

We believe in the values of criticality, creativity, communication and collaboration. It’s at the heart of everything we do.

Our school is a leading centre for research and teaching in creative arts, media studies, communications, journalism, literature and creative writing, film studies and screen production, music, theatre and performance.

We have a thriving community of more than 3000 students and offer undergraduate programs in media public relations and advertising, communication and journalism, screen and sound production, and music. Students also choose our exciting majors and subjects for a Bachelor of Arts, and many mix their courses with double degrees in other programs and subject areas.

Our postgraduate masters programs in public relations and advertising, communication and journalism combine critical thinking with professional skills for developing careers in the media field. Our extensive doctoral program offers students the very best in intellectual and research support. They benefit from experienced supervisors, an academic postgraduate team, regular informal seminars and milestone reviews, research training and other events.

Explore our school website to discover more about our courses, research, public seminars and cultural events. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
