Engage with us
Whether you’re an industry partner, prospective student, researcher or alum, there are many ways to get involved with the School of the Arts & Media and be part of our vibrant creative community.
At the School of the Arts & Media, our impact stretches well beyond the campus. We work in partnership with communities, cultural organisations and industry leaders to address real issues and spark new ideas. From media initiatives that confront social issues to creative writing that amplifies under‑represented stories, our community is dedicated to impactful creative practice. Through performance projects that foster shared spaces of care and collaboration, our staff and students remain deeply engaged in work that truly matters.
Impacting public debate & policy
Our researchers shape global conversations through media commentary, reports and podcasts. We bring academic insights to the public to inform policy, spark dialogue and inspire change.
Engaging sectors
Collaboration underpins our approach. Through partnerships with key cultural and industry leaders, we translate research into practice and foster creative innovation across diverse sectors.
Connecting audiences
Our work extends beyond campus, through performances, events, journalism and publications. We share ideas and creative practices that challenge, engage and inspire.
Connecting communities through creative practice
Our creative and research initiatives extend far beyond the university, fostering meaningful connections with communities, cultural organisations, and industry across Australia and beyond. Whether through the Esme Timbery Creative Practice Lab’s collaborative performance-making, Southerly’s literary stewardship, Newsworthy’s student journalism, or Juvenilia Press’s unique editorial partnerships, our staff and students work together to amplify under‑represented voices, spark critical debate, and support vibrant cultural exchange. These projects, along with our diverse industry partnerships, demonstrate our commitment to creative collaboration that enriches public life and strengthens the communities we engage with.
