What is city analytics

Today’s leaders need to be able to take data-driven approaches to inform their decision-making. As our world becomes increasingly complex and interconnected, anticipating the daily needs of the evolving population requires a multi-faceted approach. 

City analytics combines the effective use of technology and tools to create future-focused, sustainable cities and places that are purposefully designed for modern living.

Why study city analytics? 

The future of cities will be shaped by analytics, and those that can master them will play a pivotal role. At UNSW, you’ll learn about smart cities, big data, open data, geo-design, modelling and simulation, visualisation and virtual reality.

As you explore how big data and urban analytics are changing our cities, you’ll gain knowledge of the challenges faced in the built environment and importantly how to interpret and share knowledge with both generalist and specialist audiences.
