From interactive workshops and student pitch competitions to industry showcases and debates, this is your chance to see AI in motion—and to be part of where it goes next.

| Facilitator: Lynn Gribble, School of Management and Governance, UNSW Business School Want to know more about ethics, copyright and your responsibilities with AI? Heard all the arguments about why all AI is plagiarism or read about the landmark case with Perplexity but not sure why this is an issue? This session explores key considerations in the development and use of Generative AI. We will wrestle with concepts such as ownership, copyright, and ethics and the determination of what is the work being done. Through pre-polling, case studies, and interactive discussion, attendees will examine the gap between public opinion and informed debate, and reflect on the ethical and financial implications of AI in creative and business contexts. Participants will be challenged to consider not only what AI can do, but whether it should. |

| Facilitators: Sunil Dubey & Hoon Han, UNSW Cities Institute By 2050, nearly 70% of the world’s population will live in cities, making them critical testing grounds for AI’s impact on society and business. This interactive session begins with a keynote on AI in city planning and management, followed by a panel discussion on public engagement, ethics, and investment in AI for city-making. The session will include participation from NSW Government or Local Government representatives in the Q&A discussion. Students will actively engage in a moderated Q&A exploring the opportunities, challenges, and ethical dilemmas of AI in shaping future cities. |

| Facilitator: Colin Priest, School of Risk and Actuarial Studies, UNSW Business School Forget boring rote memorization. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll discover how the ancient art of “memory palaces” can be supercharged with generative AI. You’ll learn how to turn ordinary facts into vivid, AI-generated scenes. Think of castles of calculus, or dungeons filled with economic theories. By the end, you won’t just remember better, you’ll have built your own personalized AI memory palace to take with you into study (and beyond). Students should bring their own laptop with access to Copilot. |

About AI in Business and Society
New in 2026, AI in Business and Society equips students with the tools to navigate and shape the evolving role of AI in industries and societies. Students start with a foundation in AI technologies, responsible practices, and human-AI collaboration. The major includes four electives, providing flexibility for students to tailor their learning to specific interests. An industry-partnered capstone allows students to apply their AI knowledge to a real-world situation.
AI in Business and Society offers the following curricular options:
- A second undergraduate major for students in the UNSW Business School and an optional major for Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Social Sciences students in the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture
- An undergraduate minor for students in the above programs, plus students in Bachelor of Design, Bachelor of Fine Arts, and Bachelor of Media programs
- A post-graduate specialization for Master of Commerce students
