Want to find out what it feels like to work for some of the world’s top firms - from the comfort of your own desk?

Welcome to Forage - an interactive online work experience program designed to help you develop your skills and gain a real understanding of different roles and industries before you graduate.

Designed by leading companies, these online work experiences consist of self-paced modules, with tasks similar to those that you would undertake during a traditional internship.

You’ll access incredible opportunities to learn:

  • Digital experience: Learn the latest in business development, data analytics and digital marketing.

  • Global networks: Work alongside colleagues from different cultures, time zones and markets, using cloud-based tools.

  • Business skills: Use your innovative ideas and experience to solve real business problems and help shape a company’s future.

The Forage virtual work experience programs can be accessed online at any time.

  • In these programs, you will:

    • Complete a virtual internship containing modules of tasks from the different divisions of the company you choose

    • View video instructions from actual employees

    • Access curated resources to help you in the task

    • Submit work that reflects actual day to day tasks

The programs are self-paced and take 5-6 hours to complete. By participating in the program, not only will you build up the practical skill set employers are looking for, but you’ll also receive a company-branded virtual internship badge that you can showcase on your CV and LinkedIn profile.

  • Yes! If you are a student at UNSW, regardless of university degree, prior experience, location or year group, you can experience working at some of the world’s top firms via Forage.

  • Please read through the Forage FAQs and then register your account through the UNSW-specific form.

  • As you complete each module of the Virtual Internship you will unlock real work samples to show you how a graduate at that company would have approached each task.

You will be able to self-assess your own work and continue to build the skills and confidence to be successful in your transition from university to the world of work.
