Whether you’re exploring where your degree in business could take you, or already have your dream job in mind, finding a mentor who challenges, motivates and inspires you to pursue your goals is key to professional success.

The Career Mentoring Program connects you with a mentor who has been in your position as a student, and knows what it takes to succeed after graduating.  

In the Career Mentoring Program, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Gain insight into the reality of the business world
  • Learn from and be guided by an experienced business professional
  • Reflect on your career goals and future ambitions
  • Build your professional network and make new contacts
  • Gain confidence and develop new skills that will assist you throughout your personal and professional life

You’ll also receive acknowledgement of completion of the program on your AHEGS.

Industry partners

Chartered Accountants Australia + New Zealand partners with the UNSW Business School to deliver the Career Mentoring Program.

The program will be conducted in Terms 2-3.

  • Good question! You should allow for about 20 hours all up. That’s enough time to complete the compulsory program components:

    • Assessment centre
    • Training session
    • Program Launch event
    • Minimum 5 hours of face-to-face mentoring activities
    • Mid-program Career Builder workshop
    • Reflection statement
  • The Career Mentoring Program is open to UNSW Business School domestic and international students who meet the following criteria: 

    • Have not previously completed the Career Mentoring Program.
    • Have completed COMM6000 (Career Accelerator Essentials) (Login using student-enrolment key: Career_Accelerator) and the Mentee Toolkit (Login using student self-enrolment key: menteetoolkit) prior to commencement of the program.
    • For undergraduate students: must have completed a minimum of 48 Units of Credit (UoC) by the start of Term 2.
    • For postgraduate students: There is no UoC requirement. Applicants must not have previous professional industry experience in Australia.
  • Applications for the 2024 program have now closed. 

    Applications for the 2025 program will open on 1 March 2025, so stay tuned to this page in February for more information.
