Abstract: 

We discuss the first case of Kummer's proof of Fermat's Last Theorem for QQ-regular primes a criterion for testing regularity.
We show how to extend his partial proof to the Gaussian integers for  Q[i]Q[i]-regular primes and give a conjecture for testing   Q[i]Q[i]-regularity.
