Board tutorials: the Sydney experience one semester in

Abstract: 

This semester the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sydney has trialled board tutorials (where students work in groups at whiteboards around the room) in a large first year calculus unit. We will discuss our experiences so far from the initial tutor training and practice in the classroom. We will share the lessons learnt and our future plans.
