Abstract:

Most of us are directly or indirectly involved in teaching at some level.
Several members of the School of Mathematics and Statistics have recently been successful in  a variety of different types of  Teaching and Learning grant applications, and  some are presenting in this seminar.

Each of the presenters will briefly outline what was their grant proposal. Then Chris Tisdell, currently Associate Dean (Education) in the Faculty of Science, will briefly outline the  processes and possibilities for Teaching and Learning grants.

The floor will then be thrown open for general discussion about ways in which Teaching and Learning grants might be used to improve or develop the teaching and learning of mathematics and statistics.

Please join us after the seminar for more discussion over wine and cheese.
