Abstract:
In 2017 the UNSW School of Mathematics and Statistics began using online tools to provide helpful and constructive feedback to students in MATH1081 Discrete Mathematics. NUMBAS is a free, open source and highly versatile package that can be used for formative or summative assessment. This talk will introduce NUMBAS, its features, and how it has impacted upon student learning in 2017s2.
About the speaker: Daniel is an Associate Lecturer in Pure Mathematics at UNSW. He is a passionate multiple-award winning teacher who specializes in online mathematics education. He is also interested in the mathematics of ancient Babylon.
